The remedy for this recall is still under development. If the fuel line cracks, a fuel leak can occur, increasing the risk of a fire.

The low pressure fuel hose that connects the low pressure fuel pump to the direct injection fuel pump may crack over time due to heat generated within the engine compartment. Hyundai Motor America "Hyundai" is recalling certain 2013-2014 Sonata vehicles. Treated the gas and the fuel injection system. Started draining the oil, it was black as tar as if I had not gotten an oil change. So the mechanic said let's try another oil change. They ran tests, could not find anything wrong with the car, thought it was my pulley, but it was all right. I crank up it drive for a minute and cut right back off again. Well on the 18th of March in traveling my car stopped in the middle of the highway. So I spent $800 getting these things done on my car including the oil change. They ran tests and told me my engine was fine, and I need brakes, an alignment, and tires. I also took the car on the 11th to the Hyundai dealership to check for a knocking noise I had heard in the car. On March 10 I took my Sonata to get an oil change at superlube. However, there is no current recall campaign for this unsafe scenario. It appears that the Hyundai dealership was also aware of this problem with the original line which is why they replaced it with a different part. The lack of quality in the original fuel line is concerning because it placed my family directly at risk to experience a dangerous and possibly fatal fire. The Hyundai dealership replaced it with a superior (non-plastic) fuel line. The fuel line was the original genuine Hyundai part.

Upon opening the hood, I noted the gas leak around the cracked plastic connection.
The gas leak could be visualized upon starting the car. The smell of gas was evident within the cabin while both stationary and in motion, and I could see vapor rising from the proximal portion of the hood while sitting in the driver's seat. This week my vehicle experienced a fuel line crack where the low pressure fuel pump connects to the direct injection fuel pump. Dealer refuses to inspect instead keeps guessing soliciting service repairs to replace fuel pumps and belts out of pocket ranging costs from $500 to $1200 while college student is stranded 400 miles away from home. Vehicle engine failed again 10 miles from dealership who refuses to inspect engine warranty problems without an open recall: NHTSA campaign number 18v934000 affects engine, fuel system, gas, pe19003/pe198003 affects engine, electrical system, fuel system, gas, unknown, rq17004 affects scope and timeliness, 18v934000 affects high pressure fuel pipe may leak from engine, fuel system, gas, 15v-568/17v-226 affects gas direct injection engines, the high pressure fuel pipe that connects to the fuel pump may be damaged, misaligned, or improperly torqued during engine replacement procedure. On the engine failed again, dealership in norman ok finally serviced the vehicle on under engine recall warranty after multiple escalation complaints claiming to have passed bearing clearance test, computer updates and replaced engine knock sensor. An in depth multi point inspection promoting safety and reliability minimizing mechanical failure was performed. 3 replaced engine under campaign t3g per PA. Performed TSB 17-em-001 and replaced both starter and intake manifold due to having debris and starter intermittly not engaging 8p1326ko 8. Pa approved engine replacement under campaign t3g. On 11/10/20, Hyundai dealer inspection found engine seized causing a no start condition. Vehicle stalled while driving on the highway, in motion and on city streets.
